Short answer: Skool Hobby costs $9 a month plus 10% + 30¢ per payment. Skool Pro costs $99 a month plus 2.9% + 30¢, or 3.9% + 30¢ on payments above $900. Both fees include card processing.

There is also a separate charge to watch: Growth Boost, on by default, takes 30% of revenue from members Skool’s Discovery brings in. Checked 20 Oct 2026 against Skool’s subscriptions FAQ (updated 29 Sep 2026) and skool.com/pricing.

1. The two transaction fees

  • Hobby: 10% + 30¢. On a $30 membership, Skool keeps $3.30 and you get $26.70.
  • Pro: 2.9% + 30¢. On the same $30 membership, Skool keeps $1.17 and you get $28.83.
  • Pro above $900: 3.9% + 30¢. Skool’s own example: a $999 payment pays out $959.74.

Because processing is included, you won’t get a separate Stripe bill.

2. When Pro pays for itself

Pro costs $90 a month more than Hobby. It saves you 7.1% of each payment below $900 (10% − 2.9%). The 30¢ fee is the same on both plans, so it cancels out.

Break-even members = $90 ÷ (7.1% × price)

  • At $30 a month: 42.25 members, so Pro is cheaper from 43.
  • At $50: from 26.
  • At $100: from 13.

3. Growth Boost: the 30% you may not have noticed

Skool’s FAQ says Growth Boost is on by default. Skool takes 30% of the subscription revenue from members it brings in through Discovery. The cut is recurring for as long as those members stay. You can switch it off in Settings → Discovery.

How much it costs depends on your share of Discovery members:

  • 20% of revenue from Discovery members: an extra 6 percentage points on your total revenue (30% × 20%).
  • In our subscription test vectors, Skool Pro at $5,000 a month drops from $4,726 kept to $4,426 once 20% of revenue comes from Discovery.

Whether it’s worth it depends on whether those members would have found you anyway. Skool doesn’t publish conversion data for Discovery, so we can’t say.

4. Annual billing

Skool’s pricing page offers yearly billing with “2 months free”. The Yearly toggle shows Hobby at $7.50 a month and Pro at $82 a month, which works out to $90 and $990 a year. Only Pro includes a custom URL and the affiliate program. (skool.com/pricing, checked 20 Oct 2026)

5. Payouts and tax

  • Payouts: weekly, in your local currency. India is on Skool’s supported list.
  • Tax: Skool is the merchant of record and handles EU VAT on member payments.
