About Stack & Sum

Last updated

We started Stack & Sum because most “best course platform” articles skip the part that matters most: the numbers.

  • What does a platform cost at 500 students?
  • How much do transaction fees take at $5,000 a month?
  • What happens to your bill as you grow?

How this site works

  • Fee data with dates. Every plan price and fee comes from the vendor’s own pricing or help pages. Each one shows the date it was checked and links to its source. When a price changes, we log the change. (How we check prices)
  • Calculators that show their working. Each calculator lists its assumptions and formulas, so you can check the maths or plug in your own numbers. (Course platform fee calculator)
  • Hands-on reviews, clearly labelled. Before a page carries a rating or describes how a product feels to use, we open a real account and work through the same test setup described on the methodology page. Pages without that testing say so, and stick to documented facts and fee maths.

How we make money

Stack & Sum earns a commission from some links on this site, at no extra cost to you. See the disclosure.

Who it’s for

The site is for course creators, coaches, community owners, newsletter writers and freelancers who want to choose tools on cost and fit, not hype.

We write for creators everywhere. Prices are shown in US dollars unless a page says otherwise.
