What you keep at $3,000 a month

Example: 100 members paying $30 a month on a recurring plan, US cards.

  • Skool Hobby: $9 + 100 × ($3.00 + $0.30) = $339. You keep $2,661.
  • Skool Pro: $99 + 100 × ($0.87 + $0.30) = $216. You keep $2,784.
  • Stan Creator: $29 + Stripe 100 × ($1.02 + $0.30) = $132 (2.9% + 0.5% recurring + 30¢), + one payout of about $2,868 at 0.25% + 25¢ (about $7.42) = about $168. You keep about $2,832.
  • Stan Creator Pro: the same with a $99 plan: about $238. You keep about $2,762.

Skool’s fee includes card processing; Stan’s 0% fee does not, so Stripe’s rates are added. Cashing out more often adds more payout fees, because each one has a 25¢ fixed part and a $1 minimum. International cards add 1.5% and currency conversion 1% (Stan fees, updated 23 Sep 2026). Skool’s numbers leave out Growth Boost (30% on members Skool brings in through its search or ads).

Plans

Skool (pricing): Hobby $9 and Pro $99 a month. Both list unlimited members, courses, videos and live calls; Pro adds a custom URL, the affiliates feature and the lower fee. Skool’s features page offers a 14-day free trial.

Stan Store (plan comparison, updated 23 Jun 2026): Creator $29 a month or $300 a year, Creator Pro $99 a month or $948 a year. Stan says it has no free plan.

  • Creator includes the storefront, calendar and booking, analytics, an unlimited course builder, recurring subscriptions, lead magnets, community features and AutoDM.
  • Creator Pro adds payment plans and dynamic pricing, checkout discounts, limited-quantity offers, upsells and order bumps, Afterpay and Klarna, funnels, affiliate management, contact import, email broadcasts and flows, and pixel tracking (Creator Pro features).

Storefront vs community

Stan is built for selling from a social profile: a store page with products, bookings and lead magnets. Skool is built for keeping members engaged after they join: a discussion feed, classroom, calendar, points and levels, and one-click email broadcasts (Skool features).

Payouts

Skool processes payments on its own merchant account and pays out every Wednesday in local currency, including to India. Stan pays through Stripe or PayPal; a cash-out needs at least $10 available and takes the full balance (Stan cash-out).

Who each fits, based on published features and pricing

This is a reading of each vendor’s published plans and prices, not a tested recommendation. Neither product has been tested hands-on for this page.

  • Skool’s published features fit paid communities, cohort programs and group coaching, where the member feed, classroom and calendar are the product.
  • Stan Store’s published features fit creators selling several small offers, 1:1 bookings, courses and lead magnets from a link-in-bio page, who are happy to manage their own Stripe or PayPal fees.

What this page doesn’t cover

This comparison uses official pricing and help pages only. It doesn’t rate checkout conversion, ease of use or support, because those need hands-on use.
