Systeme.io Domain Setup: Connect and Authenticate Your Domain
We may earn a commission from some links. It doesn’t affect our rankings.
Short answer
Systeme.io uses two separate domain setups. To send email, go to Settings > Emails > Domains, enter your domain without www, then add the three CNAME records and one DMARC TXT record it generates at your DNS host, and confirm your sender address. To host pages, go to Settings > Custom Domain, add www.yourdomain.com and add the two CNAME records shown.

This guide summarises Systeme.io’s own help articles. It is not a hands-on walkthrough, and menu names can change; follow the values shown in your own account.
Two different domain setups
Searches for “authenticate domain” often mix up two separate jobs in Systeme.io:
| Job | Where in Systeme.io | Records you add at your DNS host | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email authentication | Settings > Emails > Domains | 3 CNAME + 1 DMARC TXT | Required to send emails from Systeme.io with your own address |
| Custom domain for pages | Settings > Custom Domain | 2 CNAME (www + validation) | Shows your funnels and website on your domain |
| Sender address | Settings > Emails > Verified email addresses | None (confirmation email) | Confirms the From address you send with |
You can do one without the other, but most people who sell with Systeme.io need all three.
Authenticate your domain for email
Per Systeme.io’s help article (last updated 25 Aug 2026):
- Hover over your profile picture, open Settings, then Emails.
- In the Domains section, click the link to authenticate your domain.
- Enter your domain without “www” (for example
yourbrand.com) and click Save. - Systeme.io generates three CNAME records and a DMARC record in a table.
- At your DNS host (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare and so on), add each CNAME record.
- Add the DMARC record as a TXT record.
- Check the records with a DNS lookup tool, then contact Systeme.io support as the article asks.
- Confirm the sender address you want to use (see below).
What the records look like
Systeme.io’s example values (yours will differ, so copy them from your account):
| Type | Name (host) | Value |
|---|---|---|
| CNAME | si942517 (a unique ID) | inbound.systeme.io. |
| CNAME | systemeio1._domainkey | key1.systeme.io. |
| CNAME | systemeio2._domainkey | key2.systeme.io. |
| TXT | _dmarc | v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:you@yourbrand.com |
Two details from the help article catch many people out:
- Host field: enter only the part before your domain. If Systeme.io shows
si942517.yourbrand.com, typesi942517. - Trailing dot: Systeme.io’s example adds a period at the end of CNAME values (
inbound.systeme.io.). Systeme.io notes that some hosts, such as Hover, don’t accept the dot, so leave it off there.
Systeme.io’s help centre says SPF and DKIM are set up automatically when you authenticate the domain this way. Its DMARC article warns that a domain can have only one DMARC record: if you already have one from another email tool, edit it instead of adding a second, and separate several report addresses in rua with commas. Systeme.io points to MXToolbox’s DMARC lookup for checking it.
Rules Systeme.io lists
- A domain can be authenticated in only one Systeme.io account or sub-account.
- The domain should have an active website. Systeme.io warns that a domain leading to a 404 page may get emails blocked.
- Personal email domains (Gmail, Yahoo, ProtonMail) can’t be authenticated.
Confirm your sender address
After the domain is authenticated, Systeme.io asks you to confirm the address you send from:
- Settings > Emails > Verified email addresses.
- Click the link to confirm an address, enter it (for example
hello@yourbrand.com) and save. - Open the confirmation email in that inbox and click Confirm.
Connect a custom domain for your pages
This is separate from email authentication. Per Systeme.io’s domain-connection article:
- Settings > Custom Domain > Add domain.
- Enter the domain with www (for example
www.yourbrand.com) and save. - Systeme.io shows two CNAME records: one with host
www, and one long validation record starting with an underscore. - Add both at your DNS host.
- Redirect the bare domain (
yourbrand.com) towww.yourbrand.com. On Hostinger, Systeme.io describes an ALIAS record at the root instead.
Systeme.io notes that a domain can be used for only one website. If you want to keep an existing site on the root domain, connecting a subdomain (for example pages.yourbrand.com) is the usual alternative; check Systeme.io’s help centre for its subdomain steps.
Common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause (per Systeme.io’s help centre) |
|---|---|
| CNAME shows red in a DNS checker | Typo, full domain pasted into the host field, or record not saved |
| Record rejected or not resolving | Host doesn’t accept the trailing dot on values (Hover is Systeme.io’s example) |
| DMARC not working | Two DMARC records on the same domain |
| Domain can’t be added | It’s already authenticated in another Systeme.io account or sub-account |
| Changes not visible yet | DNS propagation can take 24 to 48 hours |
Free DNS setup from Systeme.io support
Systeme.io’s help centre describes a free DNS setup on every plan: support connects and authenticates the domain for you, usually within a few hours. You must already own the domain, and the request asks for your registrar login details. Systeme.io recommends changing your registrar password once it notifies you the work is done. If your registrar uses two-factor authentication, support coordinates the code by email.
What it costs
Domain setup has no separate Systeme.io fee. The pricing page lists 1 custom domain on the free plan (2,000 contacts, 3 sales funnels, 1 course), and paid plans at USD 17 (Startup), USD 47 (Webinar) and USD 97 (Unlimited) a month (checked 29 Oct 2026). You buy the domain itself from a registrar.
What this page doesn’t cover
It doesn’t rate Systeme.io’s deliverability or cover every DNS host’s screens. Your DNS host’s own help pages show where to add CNAME and TXT records.

Frequently asked questions
Is domain authentication required to send emails from Systeme.io?
Yes. Systeme.io's help article on authenticating a domain for email sending says authentication is mandatory to send emails from the platform. You also need to confirm the sender address on that domain (help centre, checked 29 Oct 2026).
What DNS records does Systeme.io ask for?
For email: three CNAME records (one pointing to inbound.systeme.io and two DKIM keys, systemeio1._domainkey and systemeio2._domainkey, in Systeme.io's example) plus one DMARC TXT record at _dmarc. For website hosting: two CNAME records, one for www and one validation record. Always copy the exact values your own account shows.
Can I authenticate a Gmail or Yahoo address?
No. Systeme.io's help centre says domains from personal email providers such as Gmail, Yahoo or ProtonMail can't be authenticated. You need a domain you own, for example yourbrand.com.
Does the free plan include a custom domain?
Yes. The Systeme.io pricing page FAQ lists 1 custom domain on the free plan, alongside 2,000 contacts, 3 sales funnels and 1 course (checked 29 Oct 2026). Paid plans start at USD 17 a month.
How long does DNS take to work?
Systeme.io's help centre says DNS changes can take 24 to 48 hours to fully propagate. You can check records with a public DNS lookup tool while you wait.
Can one domain be authenticated in two Systeme.io accounts?
No. Systeme.io says a domain can only be authenticated in one account or sub-account, so remove it from the old account first if you are moving it.
Will Systeme.io set up the DNS for me?
Systeme.io's help centre describes a free DNS setup request on all plans, where support connects and authenticates the domain. It asks for your registrar login, and Systeme.io itself recommends changing that password once the setup is complete.
What happens to an existing website on the domain?
If you point the root domain at Systeme.io, any site already hosted there (for example on WordPress or Wix) stops loading at that address. Using a subdomain such as pages.yourbrand.com is the usual way to keep both.
