Prices are in USD; Circle’s exclude tax. Circle’s page data lists Scale at USD 419 on monthly billing as well as annual, which may be an error, so this page doesn’t state a Scale monthly price.
What you pay at USD 3,000 a month
Example: 100 members paying $30 a month by US card. Both platforms add their fee on top of Stripe’s standard 2.9% + USD 0.30 ($117) (Stripe pricing). Circle’s help centre says subscriptions also use Stripe Billing, which adds 0.7% ($21). Mighty Networks’ help page doesn’t say whether Stripe Billing applies, so its figures leave it out; if it does apply, subtract $21.
- Mighty Networks Launch ($79 a month billed annually): 2% ($60) + $117 = $177, plus $79 = $256. You keep $2,744. Billed monthly ($95): you keep $2,728.
- Circle Professional ($89 billed annually): 2% ($60) + $117 + $21 = $198, plus $89 = $287. You keep $2,713. Billed monthly ($99): you keep $2,703.
- Mighty Networks Scale ($179 billed annually): 1% ($30) + $117 = $147, plus $179 = $326. You keep $2,674. Billed monthly ($215): you keep $2,638.
- Circle Business ($199 billed annually): 1% ($30) + $117 + $21 = $168, plus $199 = $367. You keep $2,633. Billed monthly ($219): you keep $2,613.
International cards and currency conversion would lower every figure. Mighty Networks also notes Stripe restrictions on cross-border accounts in India, Malaysia, Brazil and the Philippines, and supports Stripe only (no PayPal).
Add-ons and extra costs
- Circle lists paid add-ons: extra admins at USD 10 a month each, 10 extra moderators or 10 extra spaces at USD 20 a month. On Professional, branded email notifications cost USD 40 a month and custom profile fields USD 49 a month.
- Mighty Networks says live streams can go up to 10,000 viewers for an extra fee, without listing the price. Above that, branded apps and managed services sit in Mighty Pro.
- iOS sales: Mighty Networks sells inside its iOS app through Apple In-App Purchase and adds no fee of its own there; Apple takes its cut. Circle lists native in-app mobile payments on Circle Plus.

Is Mighty Networks cheaper than Circle?
At entry level, slightly: Mighty Networks Launch is $79 a month billed annually ($95 monthly) and Circle Professional $89 ($99 monthly), both with a 2% fee. One step up, Mighty Networks Scale is $179 against Circle Business at $199, both at 1%.
Which charges lower transaction fees?
Mighty Networks reaches 0.5% on Growth at $354 a month billed annually. Circle's 0.5% rate is only on Circle Plus, which is custom-priced. At 2% and 1% the two match plan for plan. Stripe processing comes on top on both.
Does either offer a branded app?
Both do, but only on their top, custom-priced tier: Mighty Pro for Mighty Networks and Circle Plus for Circle. Lower plans use each vendor's own iOS and Android apps.
Can I run courses on both?
Yes. Mighty Networks lists courses on every plan, and Circle includes courses alongside community spaces, events and live streams on its plans. Check each vendor's feature list for drip and certificate options.
Which has more storage?
On the first three plans they match: 200GB, 500GB and 1TB. At the top tier Mighty Pro lists 4TB, while Circle Plus lists 1TB. Mighty Networks also lists unlimited spaces, where Circle caps spaces at 20, 30 or 100.
Do both have a free trial?
Yes. Both offer 14 days without a card. Mighty Networks runs every trial on its Growth plan, with a 5% fee on payments taken during the trial. Circle also lists a 30-day full refund policy on paid plans.
